Countdown® NT is a systematic growth regulator shortening and strengthening winter and summer wheat, winter and summer barley, winter rye, triticale, grass family inter-nodes being grown for seed, this way protecting them against loding. The active substance, which enters the plants through leaves and stems, tineksapak-ethyl is hydrolyzed in to an active acid, which is transferred to the meristematic tissue of growth cones. This acid suppresses the creation of gibberellin acid (growth hormone), which is why, the plant grows shorter inter-nodes.
